Marjan Emami, MD, RTC, RPC-c
I’m a trained physician with nearly 20 years of experience in cancer research at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. Over the years, I became increasingly curious about why some individuals developed illness despite having no clear medical risk factors. Through both professional observation and personal reflection, I came to understand that many physical conditions are deeply connected to emotional and psychological experiences. This insight led me to explore a more holistic path to healing.
As a therapist, I support individuals in uncovering the deeper patterns and inner blocks that may be keeping them stuck or disconnected. My approach integrates a variety of therapeutic modalities to foster healing, build resilience, and nurture healthier relationships—with oneself and with others.
My work draws from Compassionate Inquiry (developed by Dr. Gabor Maté), and is informed by the teachings of Stephen Porges, Gordon Neufeld, Dan Siegel, Bessel van der Kolk, Pat Ogden, and spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle.
“We get hurt in relationships, and we can be healed in the safety of a relationship.” This is the kind of supportive and healing connection I aim to create.
